Evelyn Jimenez was born and raised in San Jose where her passion for teaching steadily grew. At a young age, her love of helping others morphed into a love for education.
Before receiving her Bachelor’s in English from San Jose State University, she taught a high school junior English class as part of her Teaching Academy Senior Practicum requirements while attending Independence High School. After graduating from IHS, she tutored adult ESL students at De Anza College in Cupertino in writing, listening and speaking. Evelyn also has experience working with teen students with 504 plans, IEP plans and students diagnosed with ADD and ADHD who attended public and private high schools. Additionally, she tutored elementary and middle school students across the South Bay who needed additional support with the Common Core State Standards. Evelyn currently teaches language arts at the high school level. In her downtime, she enjoys reading as many contemporary novels as she can, listening to music, and spending time with her closest friends.
